Tayen introduces his background, his dual role as data scientist and GenAI engineer, and his onboarding experience, including quickly contributing to projects and delivering value early by solving an Azure-related bug.
They discuss CROPLAND’s project approach combining business consulting and technical execution, and the skills Tayen had to ramp up on, including switching stacks to Python, working across Azure and Google Cloud, and building multi-agent solutions. Tayen explains how he uses OpenAI Codex (plan mode) for structuring features, templates, testing, and documentation, while warning about risks such as hidden dependencies, licensing/compliance, production readiness, and security, especially in the context of “vibe coding.”
