If you’re just starting out with Event-Driven Architecture, you might think you just have to pick a streaming broker and you’re done. Well, think again! 😅
A proof of concept is one thing, but a production-ready enterprise EDA ecosystem needs a whole network of technologies working together. Since there are plenty of possibilities out there, it can be difficult to find the right match.
To bring some order to the chaos, we decided to list our preferred technologies and vendors and organize them into four layers. Over the next few weeks, we will break down how these layers work:
1. The core is made up of the streaming engines and cloud services that transport your data.
2. The nervous system represents the connectors that link legacy systems and cloud environments.
3. The brain consists of the platforms that handle real-time analytics and system observability.
4. The shield stands for the tools that manage data safety, backups, and cost optimization.
