Georgy has been with me from day one. But we almost never met. The idea for Husk started years earlier, during my MBA in the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. Before that, I was a banking lawyer, and I had a front-row seat to something that always bothered me: large corporates could optimise their spending with debt and credit, squeezing every advantage out of their capital. Smaller, fast-growing companies could not. I couldn't shake it. But I also didn't have a partner n Europe to bring it to life. So I did something slightly mad. I moved to Amsterdam for a few months, purely because it had one of the strongest startup ecosystems around. Then, at the opening of a new Techstars cohort, I met Georgy. He had been in the Antler program in Amsterdam, playing with the idea of offering risk models as a service. Which, if you know Husk, is almost comically perfect. The exact missing piece to the exact problem I'd been circling for years. We spent time getting to know each other. Then we decided to just go for it. Applied to Techstars. Got in. Started the company. Yeah, timing is the funniest miracle I find in life.. I'm very glad I moved to Amsterdam. What an absolute pleasure it has been to build alongside him. p.s. - We need to shoot better pictures together.
