Jo Caudron
Transformation strategist, author, and keynote speaker exploring today’s global challenges and turning uncertainty into momentum for the next social and economic (European) paradigm
A few months ago I had the honour of being the keynote speaker at the opening of a new LCL datacenter in Brussels. At that occasion I was also interviewed about two topics around which I do a lot of work: the societal impact of AI and the future of work.
Some of what I said:
👉 digitalisation gets reduced to technology, but it's a societal and economic transformation triggered by that technology
👉 AI isn't another wave, it's a turning point, not because of what it can do, but how fast it does it and how that challenges our ability as society to absorb these changes
👉 the "junior problem": tasks young people learned their craft on are exactly what AI now does well; if you stop training juniors today, you won't have seniors tomorrow
👉 AI can also let (young) people punch above their experience level, if they pair their human power skills with the right tools
👉 digital infrastructure has become critical infrastructure, on par with energy or transport and we have become too dependent on foreign technology
👉 digital sovereignty isn't about isolation, it's about resilience: next to return on investment, we need return on security
👉 the future of work doesn't just happen to us, it is shaped by the choices we make now
