To fly an FPV drone, operators stop watching their own back.
Operating an FPV drone means living inside the goggles — vision on the video feed, hearing buried in radio. Attention narrows onto the mission and everything in the periphery fades. This is attentional tunneling, and it leaves the operator effectively blind to their own surroundings.
That's exactly when a hostile drone strikes:
⚠️ The threat closes from an unpredictable angle in under ten seconds
⚠️ The operator never sees or hears it — both senses are already spent
⚠️ A beep or flash forces them off the feed and can reveal their position
⚠️ Current vibration systems are worn over body armour, so the ceramic plates absorb the vibration before the operator ever feels it
There's a better way. A textile-integrated haptic layer sits against the skin and maps threat direction to where it's felt on the torso — silent, private, on the one channel still open.
Eyes stay on the mission. The threat is something operators feel.
