Read Joris Van Der Gucht opinion piece, 'Why tech vendors are key to solving AI's adoption problem', on TechRadar today. In it, he explains why simply giving employees a general AI subscription doesn't do enough for the business as a whole to really improve outcomes. "General models are good at understanding language and information. But they have a hard time connecting them to workflows, regulations, governance requirements and operational nuances that rule industries. There needs to be an expert to bridge the gap between the capabilities of AI and the requirements of a profession." Joris then explains the role technology vendors now need to play: actively contributing to an organisation's AI-enabled transformation. That means real hands-on engagement, making sure people get to value by providing ongoing technical support, assist in designing firm-specific workflows... in short: doing what it takes to make sure the technology creates value for employees and the business.
