Last week's IAB-Belgium Summer Rooftop at Havas Belgium came with an announcement we're genuinely glad to be part of: a new Mentoring Program connecting industry professionals with young digital talent. We are one of the founding partners of IAB-Belgium, under the lead of Alain Heureux, Frédéric Martins, Nele Vanhecke, Roel Van Aelst, and Fleur Parnet. Here's why it matters to us specifically. We spend a lot of time in rooms discussing data governance, digital sovereignty, and standards for the next decade of the digital ecosystem. Most of the people in those rooms grew up before social platforms existed. The generation that will actually live inside the systems we're designing didn't inherit our assumptions about privacy, trust, or attention. They built their own. That's worth sitting with. Years of experience in tech teaches you a lot about how trust used to get built. It doesn't automatically teach you how trust gets built on a platform today. That's a different skill, held by the next generations. So this isn't a one-way mentorship. It's an exchange: knowledge and rigor going one way, a live read on how the next generation actually navigates digital trust going the other.
