We’re developing a new software product to extract deeper insights into Lane Support System (LSS) performance from on-road campaigns. 🛣️
Using mainly the side cameras in the IVEX Full Kit, we can measure distance to lane markings and derive metrics such as:
↔️ Lane position
🎯 Lane-centering quality
🔄 Lane-centre crossings
🚗 Vehicle wobble
Combined with dashboard-camera analysis, we can also determine whether the LSS is active, warning or intervening. ⚠️
Where lane markings are missing, we’re investigating distance-to-road-edge estimation to better understand the vehicle’s road position.
By enriching this with vehicle position, speed, lateral acceleration and yaw rate, we can analyse lateral behaviour 📊 and detect events such as abrupt steering.
Beyond the KPIs, we also want to understand how predictable the system feels to the driver 👤 :
Does it intervene when expected?
Does it make unwanted interventions?
Does it cause the driver to counteract or disable it?
The goal:
🎯 Turn on-road campaign data into a clearer picture of how LSS actually performs in real-world driving.
