Some call it "la rentrée", others "de start van het nieuwe schooljaar".
September in Belgium starts the same way.
Schools go back, the news comes back, and the emails that said "we'll pick this up in September" come due. Everyone is suddenly back.
Unless you work for yourself. Then nothing starts. Nobody calls you back in. The kitchen table is where you left it in July, and the to-do list is the same one.
The weather doesn't help either. The rain is back, and by November it's dark before five.
That's harder if you're not from here. people who grew up here still have twenty years of friends around them when it's grey. Someone who moved here two years ago and works alone can go three days without a real conversation.
What breaks a grey week isn't motivation. It's having somewhere to go. Getting dressed, taking the tram 25 or Metro 5, sitting down in a room where other people are also working.
On a sunny day you'd have gone out anyway. In the grey months, that's the difference between a working day and a day that quietly disappeared.
That's most of what a coworking space is for. Not the desk. The reason to leave the house and connection.
👉 If your own September needs somewhere to happen, come try a full #free day.
