TLDR

Take Eat Easy was a Brussels-based food delivery pioneer that attracted Rocket Internet, Index Ventures, and Tiger Global before shutting down in 2016 during the delivery wars.

Overview

Take Eat Easy was founded in 2013 in Brussels by Adrien Roose, Karim Slaoui, and Tanguy Goretti. The platform connected restaurants, bike couriers, and customers and expanded to Paris in October 2014, then to Berlin, London, and Madrid in 2015, operating in 20 cities at its peak.

The company attracted backing from major investors including Rocket Internet, Index Ventures, and Tiger Global. It was placed in receivership on July 26, 2016 and liquidated in August 2016, a casualty of the intensely competitive delivery market of that period. The founding team went on to create Cowboy, the Brussels-based premium electric bike brand, in 2017.
