Apheon is a pan-European mid-market private equity firm headquartered in Strassen, Luxembourg, managing around EUR 2.5 billion in assets with a Benelux, Italy, Spain, France, and Germany focus.
Founded in 2005 (formerly Ergon Capital Partners), Apheon has raised more than EUR 3 billion across its funds and has invested in 36 platform companies with roughly 140 add-on acquisitions. The firm targets consumer, healthcare, niche industrial, and services and media businesses, with an explicit ESG emphasis. Apheon was a shareholder in Sofico prior to the 2024 Astorg transaction and significantly reinvested alongside Astorg and the founders Gémar Hompes and Piet Maes.
