TLDR

The SIX Fintech ventures fund is the corporate venture arm of SIX Group, the Swiss exchange operator, established in 2017 with a CHF 50M fund focused on early-stage Fintech startups.

Overview

The fund was established on 1 December 2017 as the corporate Venture Capital vehicle of SIX Group, the operator of the Swiss and Spanish financial market infrastructure. The fund is based in Zurich, Switzerland.

The firm operates a CHF 50M fund investing CHF 300K to CHF 2M per company in early-stage startups at the intersection of financial services and technology. Investment themes include B2B software, financial technology, AI, big data, IoT, augmented and virtual reality, and SaaS platforms serving financial institutions.

The fund's mandate is to source technologies that strengthen the Swiss and Spanish financial market infrastructure. Beyond capital, the firm provides portfolio companies with coaching, consulting, and network access across its shareholder base of over 120 banks.

The fund is now closed to new investments. New early-stage commitments from SIX are channeled through Tenity, a global innovation ecosystem and early-stage investor that manages the original fund's portfolio on behalf of SIX Group.

Notes

The Keyrock Series B investment in 2022 was one of the larger commitments in the fund's lifecycle and connected SIX to the Belgian crypto market-making ecosystem.
