Ali Alpan

Ali Alpan is an AI Delivery Owner at Proximus Ada, based in Brussels. He took up that role in November 2024, having joined Proximus Ada as a senior data scientist in April 2022. Before that he was a senior data scientist at Proximus from March 2018 to March 2022, and a data scientist consultant at ADNEOM from November 2017 to June 2019.

Earlier he combined research posts, serving as a scientific collaborator at the Université de Montréal from February 2015 to December 2017 and as a visiting researcher at the Université libre de Bruxelles from August 2016 to January 2018. He worked as a speech scientist at Nuance Communications from November 2012 to 2015.

Alpan was a research assistant at the Université libre de Bruxelles from September 2006 to September 2012, where he completed a PhD in engineering science between 2008 and 2012, preceded by a predoctoral formation in applied science. He holds a Master of Applied Science in electrical and electronics engineering from the Faculté Polytechnique de Mons. In 2008 he spent time as a visiting researcher at the University of Limerick, and in 2005 he interned at SEE Telecom.
