Annie Vereecken

Annie Vereecken is identified in Omar Mohout's analysis of the Ghent tech ecosystem as the most active female business angel in Ghent. She represents an important part of the growing cohort of connected women shaping the local startup scene.

She holds a Master's in Pharmacy and a degree in Clinical Pathology from KU Leuven. She built a track record in healthcare by growing the laboratory group Medhold, which was sold to Sonic Healthcare in 2010. She then founded family office Opdorp Finance and became a Founding Partner and Senior Advisor at HERAN Partners, a Brussels-based impact investment firm. Her portfolio includes Cartagenia, Biocartis, MyCartis, Sensolus, argenx, and Custodix.
