
Bert De Brabandere
Bert De Brabandere is co-founder and CTO of Segments.ai, the Leuven-based AI data labeling platform that became the first Belgian Y Combinator startup (W21) and was acquired by Uber in 2025.
Bert De Brabandere co-founded Segments.ai with Otto Debals in Leuven. Both founders hold PhDs from KU Leuven, grounding the company in academic-grade computer vision research. As CTO, Bert led the technical development of the annotation and data labeling platform.
Segments.ai was admitted to Y Combinator's Winter 2021 cohort, the first Belgian company to do so. The company was subsequently acquired by Uber in 2025.Education
