Florentijn Degroote
Florentijn Degroote is co-founder and CEO of Powernaut, a Ghent-based cleantech startup building Virtual Power Plant orchestration software, which raised EUR 2.4 million in December 2024 and now manages over 200 MW of decentralized energy assets.
Degroote has been working on energy system modeling since 2018 as a machine learning engineer and co-founded Powernaut in 2023. The platform enables energy suppliers to aggregate and optimize distributed energy resources including solar panels, batteries, electric vehicles, and heat pumps in real time. The EUR 2.4 million round was led by Revent and joined by Seedcamp, Pitchdrive, and Syndicate One. Powernaut's 200 MW under management is equivalent to powering approximately 40,000 homes.
