Marco Nix

Background

Marco Nix was appointed permanent CFO of Elia Group on 1 April 2025, succeeding Catherine Vandenborre. He had served as interim CFO of the group since November 2023, while remaining CFO of 50Hertz, a role he held since 2015. Earlier in his career he worked at German utility Bewag and across the financial department of Vattenfall, then joined Elia Grid International in 2014 as Chief Corporate and Financial Officer alongside a Head of Controlling role.

Nix has also led several infrastructure project teams across the group during the build-up of offshore and onshore investment programmes.
