Tom Redant

Tom Redant is a co-founder of Hammer-IMS, where he has served as director and technical manager since April 2016. He is based in Hasselt. In the same month he became owner of Red Ant Consult and Design bv, and since September 2023 he has sat on the IOF Council of KU Leuven.

Redant studied at Sint-Jozefinstituut Genk before taking a master's degree in electronic engineering at KU Leuven from 2003 to 2008. He remained there for a PhD in integrated circuit design, completed in 2014, carrying out his doctoral work at ESAT/MICAS from October 2008. From May 2014 to March 2016 he was a postdoctoral researcher at ESAT/MICAS, where he also worked on the Hammer-IMS incubation project.

During his studies he handled sponsorship and business relations for IEEE R8 SBC Leuven 2010 and was vice-chair for sponsorship of the IEEE Student Branch Leuven. He was a leader with Chirojeugd-Vlaanderen vzw from 2002 to 2006 and has been a member of the general meeting of Bouworde vzw since September 2012.
