Overview

Hasselt is the capital of the Belgian province of Limburg, situated in the eastern part of Flanders. Its tech ecosystem is anchored by Cegeka, a major Belgian IT company that has grown from its Limburg roots into a European-scale software and services group.

The city's tech scene is smaller than Ghent, Antwerp, or Leuven but benefits from UHasselt's research output and a growing cluster of digital and industrial tech companies. UHasselt is also a participant in the QBIC inter-university deep-tech fund.
