- CROPLAND at Flanders AI Forum 2026 On Tuesday 20 October, around 1,600 visitors and exhibitors gathered at the Nekkerhal in Mechelen for the fifth edition of the Flanders AI Forum 2026. CROPLAND has been there with a stand at every edition so far. Visitors to our stand could win an AI Compass for their own organisation, or sit down for a job interview with Robin Match, our Invoice Matching Agent. At the fair, Robin was a talkative candidate. In practice, an agent like Robin creates its value where nobody sees it: matching invoices
- Alberto Cañizares Alvarado, our head of AI Solutions was in Berlin for OpenAI's DevDay Exchange, on OpenAI's invitation, representing AI Compass. That's the advantage of being an OpenAI Select: A direct line to the teams building the models. First hand Discovery of what's coming, testing new capabilities before our clients ask about them. And that matters. Our job at AI Compass is helping companies find the AI use cases that actually pay off, that really delivery ROI. You can't do that well if you discover what's possible at the
- Most companies start AI with the wrong question: “Which tool should we buy?” This week I had the privilege of speaking at the General Assembly of BABM - Belgian Brands Association. The room was full of CEOs and commercial directors from Belgium’s leading brands. My message was simple: stop buying AI like software, and start hiring it like a workforce. Think about how you’d bring fifty new people into your company. You’d write a job description. You’d decide who manages them. You’d onboard them, train them, set targets and
- Proud to say that AI Compass is now an OpenAI Select Partner! I've spent more than 25 years in marketing, strategy and innovation and every new technology arrived with big promises. But the real question is always :what will this change in how we work tomorrow? AI is no different. That's why we started AI Compass. We help leadership teams decide where to start. We give their people the skills and the confidence to use AI. And we build solutions that hold up in day-to-day operations. For me, this milestone is also an opportunity to
- AI Compass has been named an OpenAI Select Partner. We identify the AI use cases that matter, and help you implement them or build them with your team. That starts with our AI Scorecard: prioritising opportunities and defining a practical roadmap. It continues with implementation, from understanding customer feedback to streamlining reporting and product visualisation. For organisations investing in AI, the important questions remain practical: where can it make a difference, what should we build first, and how will it work in
- In 2014, I met Kholoud AlDosari at the CSR GCC conference in Abu Dhabi. I was on stage talking about my educational app business. Twelve years later, I’m welcoming her to AI Compass as a non-executive director. Kholoud is CEO of Northern Trust Saudi Arabia and self-taught in AI. She brings leadership experience, curiosity and a deep understanding of Saudi Arabia and the GCC. She was also one of the first people to read my book, The AI Compass, before it was published. Here we are with the finished copy. My ask of her is simple:
- It's the first of September. Across Belgium children are going back to school this morning, and I still remember those mornings well. Almost everything about the world has changed in thirty years. Most of what happens inside the classroom hasn't. Yes, we put computers in the schools. Then we largely taught children to use a word processor and a spreadsheet. So where is AI on the timetable this year? How are we preparing these kids for the world they'll actually work in? Nearly four years since ChatGPT launched, and still no
- Think about the best hire you ever made. Now give that person a desk, no brief, no examples of good work, no access to the files, and nobody to ask. Two weeks later you read their output and decide they're mediocre. That's roughly how most companies are running AI. Between 90 and 95% of companies report no meaningful return on it. Your competitor is running the same models you are, at the same price, released the same week. What differs is what each of you puts in front of them. AI behaves like an employee. I wrote a whole book
