- Allorado sitting still after IBS? Haha… 😅 We’re currently at Zug, Switzerland, for the KNX IoT Hands-On Workshop at Siemens Smart Infrastructure’s global HQ. ✅ We’re right in the middle of it: working with the KNX IoT open-source stack, testing development boards, building applications… Just our usual day, really. 😁
- BREAKING NEWS: KNX just went wireless. This week Allorado was in two places at once, so we did what any serious news channel would do: we went live. 📺 📍 Heidelberg: our CEO Bram introduced Alba at the KNX training conference at ABB headquarters. 📍 Paris: Victoria showed it live at IBS Paris. - Victoria Bohn is taking the stage in Rotterdam. 🎤 On 27 October, she’ll be speaking at the MCS Benelux headquarters during the Smart Week of IoT session on smart buildings. Victoria will join Frank Olsthoorn from MCS and smart building specialist Edwin Koose. 👀 The event will cover smart connectivity, LoRa, building data and retrofit projects, with a practical look at how all of that comes together in real buildings. - Two weeks to go until IBS Paris. 🇫🇷 As you can clearly see from this completely authentic, absolutely untouched photograph, we’re ready. 😎 In two weeks, the Allorado team will be in Paris to talk wireless KNX, Allorado Building Automation, and smarter existing buildings. 💪 Okay, the accessories may be questionable. - This week, we’re at The Things Conference in Amsterdam. 📡 And this time, we’re not behind a booth (for once 😝). Which means we get to do something slightly different: walk around, catch up with partners and see what everyone else has been building. Pretty good fuel for the Allorado think tank. It’s a nice change of pace to experience an event from the other side. But don’t worry, our demo setups are being well taken care of by a very capable babysitter. 🫡 Because it won’t be long before we’re back behind a booth ourselves again.
- You lock your car when you park it. So why would you leave your building network wide open? 🔐 Around ten years ago, concerns about KNX being attacked from outside or even from within the network pushed the industry towards encrypted telegrams. Today, that idea matters even more. Because KNX isn’t standing still. KNX IoT and whatever comes next all add new ways for devices to talk to each other. 👋 And every new connection is useful, but it also needs to play by the same security rules. 🚨 Source: Interview with Peter Janke
