Overview
AvioBook is an aviation software company headquartered in Hasselt and part of the Thales Group. Its origins go back to 2009, when founder Kris, a pilot, began developing an application to improve his own workflow and then joined forces with an IT expert to build the first app. DAT became the first customer, and KLM followed after the product was adapted to its requirements. Thales acquired the company in 2016. The suite has 15 years of operations behind it, more than 65 airlines using it and 150,000 flights per week. Airlines and operators listed as users include KLM, United Airlines, Transavia, Finnair, Braathens Regional Airlines and Flying Group. Frontier Airlines went live with the Electronic Flight Folder in 2020 and expanded to a second phase in December 2021. IndiGo, JetSMART and Lynx Air signed in the autumn of 2021. In November 2023 Southwest Airlines signed a multi-year contract covering the Electronic Flight Bag, Electronic Logbook and AvioCast for its Boeing 737 NG fleet. AvioBook also has offices in Toulouse, Singapore and Las Colinas, Texas. Frederic Dru is CEO and Mano Swerts is CTO.

- Weather shifts, a GNSS interference warning pops up, turnaround times change, and the cockpit and the OCC often end up working from a different version of the same flight, with crew piecing together several tools to keep up. AvioBook's solution package Enhanced Awareness closes that gap. Weather, in-flight threats, turnaround data, and airport information come together in one consistent picture, shared identically by cockpit and OCC. 🌍 Globe: a live map that keeps weather, turbulence, and GNSS interference visible right where

- Last week, our AvioBook team took a break from cockpits and checklists to focus on something just as important: our footprint on the ground 🌍 Working in aviation means being closely aware of our industry's environmental footprint. It's a responsibility we take seriously, and one we try to act on wherever we can. During Go Green Week, we dedicated five days to doing just that. ♻️ Gave old laptops and monitors a second life, raising an amazing €11,350 to donate to charity 🚲 Chose greener ways to get to work: biking, carpooling,
- Turnarounds are where airline schedules are won or lost, and where operational data has traditionally been hardest to trust. In a new post on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Machine Learning blog, we share how AvioBook's Connected Analytics puts generative AI to work on the ramp. Two role-specific AI agents, built on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, giving airline management and OCC dispatchers evidence-based answers on delay causes, procedure compliance, and disruption impact, in real time instead of after the fact. This is what happens

- There's a lot of data sitting on every aircraft after a flight. To analyze incidents, improve efficiency, or troubleshoot a defect, airlines need it, straight from the source. For most fleets, that still means sending someone out to retrieve it in person. AvioCast removes that step. It's the device that connects the aircraft to the rest of your operation automatically, the moment it lands. 🔧 Maintenance teams get a real-time view of the entire fleet, instead of finding out an aircraft has an issue only after someone checks
- We don't just want to be another vendor to the airlines we work with. We want to be a partner that's genuinely close to their day-to-day operations, so we understand what they need before it becomes a problem. In this video, Vincent Carpentier, Director of Flight Operations at ASL Airlines Belgium, talks about what that closeness looks like in practice, from daily EFB use to how quickly his team gets help when something comes up. Watch the video to see what that looks like for Vincent. Think AvioBook could make a difference in
- Putting a child on a flight alone means trusting the crew completely with their safety. No parent to explain what they need, no familiar face if they get nervous. That's exactly why cabin crew need to spot unaccompanied minors immediately, and know more than just "there's a minor on this flight." In AvioBook Cabin, an unaccompanied minor gets a color-coded SSR that stands out on the seat map, so nothing gets missed, even on a full flight. Crew can also add a short note, like who's picking them up, a favorite snack, or that they
