Founded in 2016 in Ghent, Azumuta started as a tool for creating digital, step-by-step work instructions for factory floor workers, replacing paper-based processes that were slow to update and prone to human error. The platform has since expanded into quality control checklists, production reporting, and workforce skills tracking, making it a broader operational platform for manufacturers.
The company's impact metrics are compelling: manufacturers using Azumuta cut administration time for work instructions in half, and quality complaints due to human error drop by 60%. Customers include Atlas Copco, Toyota Motor Europe, and Sioux Technologies, with approximately 100 manufacturers globally on the platform.
In November 2025, Azumuta raised EUR 8M in a Series A round led by Keen Venture Partners, with participation from Capricorn Partners and returning investors PMV, Angelwise, and Dirk Vermunicht. The round funds team growth, market expansion, and continued AI integration into the work instructions workflow.

- Azumuta Labs isn’t building robots, and they say they have no plans to. Their focus is making sure a robot can take a work instruction the same way a person does, so changing a task means editing an instruction instead of reprogramming. For their first field test, they needed an arm they could put on a bench and start working with: one machined part, one fixture, filmed from two angles. They picked a Trossen arm.
