Overview
B-SMARTT helps SMEs develop new products by consolidating scattered expertise in material science, additive manufacturing, and validation methods into one platform. The company guides companies through innovation projects from idea to market-ready solutions while embedding sustainability principles from the design phase.

- From Idea to result. Innovation takes time even or even more in times of fast evolving AI. Eventually B-SMARTT! Is coming up to speed with supporting projects such as Matthijs De Block his project. Moer to come from Orineo BV Superellipse DenimX and BIO INX
- How many living things did you touch today? Less than you should! As researching is piling up, we know that more and more of our building environment is made to keep microbes away. Sterility became too much hygiene. Seven years ago I learned about this phenomenon of the Hygiene Hypothesis. A city has much less microbiodiversity than a rural landscap. Less tree's, less microbes. I was so inspired that I built and exhibition around this topic, but I was very new to bacteria. So at the time, it felt like I failed. Now seven years
- PRESS RELEASE |Advancing high-resolution bioprinting 🧬🔬 B-SMARTT! partner BIO INX has developed a world-first prototype gelatin-based hydrogel resin that enables high-resolution, laser-based multiphoton printing of structures several millimeters in size. Using an UpNano multiphoton lithography system, BIO INX successfully demonstrated the technology by printing a cell-interactive, bifurcating blood vessel model measuring several millimeters in height. The new patent-pending formulation addresses an important material challenge
- Great connections at ESB 2026! 🧬🤝 Last week, B-SMARTT! was present at the European Society for Biomaterials conference in Antwerp, connecting with researchers, innovators and companies working at the interface of biomaterials, biotechnology and advanced manufacturing. And what better way to capture what B-SMARTT! is all about than bringing people together? A great moment at our booth with Jegor Gusev, Maria Kalogeropoulou, Robbert Willemarck, Nele Pien, and Sandra. Van Vlierberghe from Polymer Chemistry and Biomaterials
- The B-SMARTT! ecosystem keeps growing! In our Summer 2026 newsletter, we welcome Matthijs De Block, Superellipse and Orineo to the B-SMARTT! network. Three new collaborations, each bringing new opportunities to connect sustainable materials, advanced manufacturing and real-world applications across Flanders and the Netherlands. 🌱 Curious to see what we’re working on together?
