Overview
BlueFil® is described as the leading solution for preventing droplets and chemicals from reaching the outside air. The company has been operating since 2002.

- We're spending two weeks in Texas this September. 🇺🇸 First stop: the Argus Methanol & Ammonia Conference, 21–23 September in Houston. Also known as the leading meeting place for the global methanol and ammonia industry ahead of contracting season. The week after: the TFI World Fertilizer Conference, 28–30 September in Dallas, one of the most important business and networking events for the global fertilizer industry. 💧 Both events sit close to home for us. Ammonia vapor, phosphate and nitrogen fertilizer mist, and the emission
- Part of our team is currently in Punta Arenas, Chile. 📍 The 2026 Round Table for Sulfuric Acid Plants is underway, and BlueFil is sitting in on the sessions covering operation, maintenance, environmental control, and energy efficiency for metallurgical and sulfur-burning acid plants. If you're here this week and dealing with acid mist, re-entrainment, or scrubber performance, come find us. We're up for a technical conversation, or a good debate about the best way to keep a sulfuric acid plant running clean. Reach us at
- We made it to Sitges. 📍 ISPT 2026 is underway, and the BlueFil team is here, talking to the researchers and engineers shaping the next generation of separation and purification technology. Carbon capture, hydrogen generation, gas purification, sustainable separation: these are exactly the conversations we came for. If you're at the congress and working on mist elimination, droplet separation, or scrubber performance, come talk to us. We're always up for a technical discussion or a debate about the best approach to gas-liquid
- We'll be traveling to Punta Arenas in Chile soon! 🇨🇱 BlueFil is heading to Holtec's 2026 Round Table for Sulfuric Acid Plants, taking place from 6 to 10 September at the Dreams Hotel in Punta Arenas, Chile. This event has, for more than a decade, brought together operators, maintenance professionals, engineers, and acid plant leaders from major operations worldwide. 💧 Metallurgical and sulfur-burning sulfuric acid plants generate some of the most aggressive mist in industrial gas cleaning. These are conditions BlueFil
- We'll be in Sitges! 🇪🇸 BlueFil is heading to the 3rd International Congress on Separation and Purification Technology (ISPT 2026), 6–9 September 2026 in Sitges, Spain. This is a global gathering of researchers, scientists, and engineers advancing separation and purification technology. 💧 The themes on the agenda — gas purification, carbon capture and storage, hydrogen generation, sustainable and green separation — sit right at the core of what BlueFil demisters are engineered for. We're looking forward to trading notes with the
- Just replace the mesh" sounds simple until you're doing it every 18 months. Alloy wire mesh (304L, 904L, Hastelloy) looks robust on paper, but in continuous acid service it's fighting pitting, thin-film corrosion, and localized attack at every wire intersection. Real-world service life: 1,5 to 2 years. Our BlueFil® polymer modules (PP, ETFE, or PFA depending on your temperature zone) don't corrode. They degrade for different reasons, on a completely different timeline: on average 5 to 8 years for PP, 8 to10 years for ETFE/PFA.
- Everyone in mist elimination uses the same basic idea: wire mesh that catches droplets. Almost no one questions the geometry. We did. Standard demisters use flat, woven wire mesh with fibers running in multiple directions relative to the gas flow. Ours, the BlueFil® pyramid grid, arranges monofilaments in stable, repeating pyramidal units, with almost all wires perpendicular to the gas stream. That single geometric change does three things at once: 💨 Droplets slam into the fibers at higher relative velocity, so they're
- From 40 mm micro-inserts for specialized OEM equipment to multi-meter modular grids for major industrial scrubbers, BlueFil® builds for your exact physical envelope. The challenge usually isn't just fitting through the hatch, it's achieving target separation efficiency (down to 1 µm) without forcing major structural redesigns or choking gas velocity. Why OEMs and process engineers specify BlueFil®? - Tailored Internal Geometry: Custom density and layer configurations optimized for your exact flow profile and space limits. -
