Overview
The lab combines virology and cell biology to understand virus-host cell interactions and develop antiviral therapies, expanding research into cancer and other human diseases. Part of the Molecular Genetic and Therapeutics in Virology and Oncology (MOVION) research group at the Rega Institute, KU Leuven.

- Another great milestone for the Daelemans lab! Inhibiting XPO1 can trigger cancer cell death, but currently available inhibitors are often associated

- Congratulations to our two newly graduated PhDs on the successful defense of their doctoral research! Over the past years, they have made important contributions to cancer research through very different approaches. Bert Kwanten applied CRISPR-Cas screening to identify determinants of cancer drug response, while Janne Van Hauwenhuyse investigated novel therapeutic strategies to battle glioblastoma. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and are excited to see what the future holds for them. #PhDDefense #CancerResearch
