Overview
Exalate builds an integration platform for real-time, two-way synchronization between business tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, Zendesk, Salesforce, Azure DevOps, Freshdesk, Asana and GitHub. The company was founded in 2011 as iDalko in Belgium by Francis Martens and Hilde Van Brempt. The company is headquartered in Antwerp, has a development hub in Ukraine and employs between 51 and 200 people across a team spanning 18+ countries. On 1 December 2025 it moved its office to IJzerenpoortkaai 3 in Antwerp. Exalate reports 2,500+ customers, 200+ certified partners and 8,000+ active installs. Named customers include Capgemini, Daimler, Dropbox, Panasonic, Samsung, JPMorgan Chase and Dell Technologies, with case studies for Vodafone, DPG Media and NVISO. The platform is SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certified and includes an AI assistant called Aida. Recent milestones include the launch of Exalate for Asana on 17 November 2025, the Exalate Sync Panel on 7 May 2026, and 26% year-over-year revenue growth reported in 2026. - Loosely coupling systems has always been at the center of the Exalate design. At the time we never were thinking about governance and sovereignty. But it makes a lot of sense, especially now that integrations get a boost (thank you AI). Keeping control is a concern of many CIO's - we do expect quite some traction for this unique event.
- Hehe - thanks for mentioning us #atlassianecosystem much appreciated. More and more enterprises are using Exalate for moving to JSM, especially it allows to do it gradually, without disrupting operations too much. A lift and shift approach, where all the data is transferred overnight or during a weekend, is not possible when you have millions of entities. The 'live migration' approach keeps both environments in sync for a prolonged time. Teams have the option to switch from one system to another whenever they are ready for it.

- AI can take the wheel. But who is managing the traffic lights? An agent operating inside one system is one thing. An agent acting across Jira and ServiceNow, across teams, or across company boundaries is another. Who has priority? Whose rules apply? Who is accountable when paths cross? These are the questions Francis explores with Steve Prentice on the CloudTweaks - Independent Cloud & AI Thought Leadership Since 2009 podcast, not only what agents can do, but who stays in control when they act across boundaries. - Jira and #ServiceNow. An email, a script, a chain of automations, a tool you bought. Something connects the two. So why are people still filling the gaps? That’s a conversation for The Sync Room. On 24 September, we’re talking about why #ITSM integrations fail. The manual workarounds, the homegrown scripts, the setups that looked perfectly reasonable when you started. - This CloudTweaks episode focuses on the impact of configuration changes whenever 2 systems are integrated. For instance - if someone is changing a value in a dropdown on one system, your integration can break because that change has an impact. There are Exalate customers that automatically scan for configuration changes to get notified. Especially in cross-company integrations, this type of changes can bite very hard. And this leads to context. Understanding the context where an integration operates, and detecting when this
