Overview

One physical card stands for one function. Placing a card on a wireless reader tells a box connected to the TV over HDMI to start a video call to a relative's phone, play a personalised photo or video album, run music and audiobooks, show films, series and news, or start movement exercises. The box switches the television on and selects the HDMI source by itself, works over Wi-Fi or a 4G SIM, and needs no smart TV. A free companion app lets relatives run the installation, take and place calls, and order and personalise new cards. The starter set contains the TV box with camera and microphone, an HDMI cable, the wireless reader and three starter cards, offered at 139.95 EUR against a regular price of 169.99 EUR with no monthly costs and a 30-day money-back guarantee. The company was founded in 2022 after Teo Ortega and Simon Hafner met during the Antler residency in Berlin. Ortega is co-founder and CEO and previously held senior product roles at Citibox, koko and TheMotion. Hafner is co-founder and handles engineering and interface work, after years as a software engineer at Zalando. In September 2024 the company raised a 1.2 million EUR seed round led by Brandenburg Kapital and OHA Osnabruck Healthcare 7 Ventures, with existing investors Antler and Birdhouse taking part. The website is operated by Generation Reach GmbH in Potsdam.
