Overview
HydroTeam is a student team from KU Leuven building a fully hydrogen-powered race car using a hydrogen internal combustion engine (H₂-ICE) rather than a fuel cell. The team is composed of full-time postgraduate students and part-time contributors who handle all aspects from design and engineering to business and marketing.

- Last weekend, we were invited to the nekkerhal in Mechelen for the Flanders Technology & Innovation Festival . We hosted a workshop with RC race cars, powered by hydrogen. This to inspire the next generation of students to pursue an education in STEM and of course to bring awareness to hydrogen powered vehicles. We even had the opportunity to let Matthias Diependaele drive one of the cars! Thanks Toyota Motor Europe for providing the model cars and Flanders Technology & Innovation Festival for hosting! - EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT 🙌 🙌We will exhibit our V0 at the PMW Expo in Cologne, Germany on the 11th and 12th of November!! The PMW expo is the place to be for professionals working on the intersection of technology transfer between motorsport, high-performance road car programs and niche vehicle manufacturing. This year, they're going one step further, by organising courses to teach you first-hand knowledge of Vehicle Dynamics in a racing context. Come say hi, we hope to see you there!!
- Today at the workshop, we started pressure testing the fuel system on our engine cradle. This system controls the flow of hydrogen to the engine, supplying it with the necessary fuel to run. This first partial pressure test was done with nitrogen, allowing us to test the system safely for leaks. We’re very happy to say that everything went very smoothly. Although the calibration of the sensor suite still needs some work, there were no leaks detected! 🙌🙌 There is still a lot to be done before running our new engine for the very

- Yesterday, we hosted our annual Part-timer info event at KU Leuven's Group T, which was a huge succes! We gave a presentation to potential part-timers about our project and how we work with parttimers. The deadline for the application on the 29th of September, so don’t hesitate to apply! - A delegation of the HydroTeam, along with our V0, paid a visit to the UK to attend the @motorsporttechexpo. 🇬🇧🇬🇧 Our members talked with a number of leading players in the racing and automotive industry, and our founder even got the honour on giving a talk about our project! 🙌🙌 Thank you for the invitation @motorsporttechexpo, it was a pleasure to be invited!
