IONNYK

Overview

IONNYK makes cordless digital art frames built on e-paper technology: millions of ink capsules that display black-and-white art photography and reflect ambient light like paper. The frames run up to 12 months on one battery charge and come in 4:3 and 16:9 ratios. Owners receive five to ten works per month through a subscription managed in a mobile application. The company was created in 2020 as a subsidiary of INKcoming, founded in 2019, and is headquartered in La Hulpe with 11-50 employees. Mathieu Demeuse is co-founder and CEO. Charlotte Dubois is co-founder and art director. The product was first shown at KIKK Festival in Namur in November 2021. IONNYK raised more than €1 million in January 2022 from W.IN.G, BeAngels members, Noshaq, Invest.BW and private investors, and more than €1.5 million in June 2023 in a round led by ScaleFund. The second round funded a B2B push into luxury hospitality and corporate offices, a Paris showroom and a Knokke pop-up. The range includes Jane (50 x 40 cm), Linn (100 x 70 cm) and Maxine (127 x 103 cm, €7,490), made in Belgium with black aluminium and anti-reflective glass. By May 2024 the catalogue held more than 1,000 works by over 100 artists from 20 countries. On 2 September 2025 IONNYK joined the brand portfolio of PocketBook, the Lugano-registered e-reader maker, for an undisclosed sum.
