- Most companies that go through the EU's SEAL classification process score lower than they expected to. SEAL is short for measuring an organization's Security Effectiveness Assurance Level, and it's not unusual for top-tier businesses to get a disappointing rating. Not because they've been careless, but because the framework is more rigorous than most internal audits. SEAL measures 48 criteria across 8 areas, and your final score is only as high as your lowest one. A single unaddressed dependency pulls your entire rating down.
- SEAL, the EU's Sovereignty Effectiveness Assurance Level rating system, doesn't average your scores. It takes your lowest one. The framework evaluates 48 criteria across 8 areas. Your final rating is determined by whichever area scores worst. One dependency you haven't addressed, one area where control sits outside Europe, and your overall score drops to meet it regardless of everything else you've done right. That's the part most organizations miss when they start working toward SEAL compliance. It's not about being good in
- SEAL 4 is the goal. Complete EU control, zero critical dependencies outside Europe. No EU provider meets this standard today. But it's the target the EU is aiming for, and organizations that understand this now will be better positioned when the requirements tighten Full sovereignty isn't just a compliance checkbox. It's a strategic decision about who controls your infrastructure. https://lnkd.in/eqx_z9gY #DataSovereignty #SEAL #DigitalSovereignty #EUCloud
