Overview

Based in Ghent, Poppins develops a platform for the local sharing economy, enabling people in the same neighborhood or community to share items, offer skills, and exchange services without the frictions of traditional Marketplace apps that are optimized for commercial transactions rather than trust-based local exchange.

The sharing economy concept has seen various iterations globally, but hyper-local community platforms face a cold-start problem that requires dense local networks to provide value. Poppins is working on this challenge within the Belgian context.
