Overview
ProteoFormiX specializes in mass spectrometry imaging analyses, particularly for FFPE pathology samples, employing proprietary technology to detect proteoforms and metabolite sets in clinical specimens. The company aims to transform archived tissue biobanks into resources for disease discovery and diagnosis.

- Happy to share our experience connecting MassTech Inc.’s AP/MALDI source with Thermo Fisher Scientific Orbitrap systems for high-resolution mass spectrometry imaging (#MSHC).
- Another example of our fruitful collaboration with the Laboratory of Applied Mass Spectrometry #LAMaS at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven). Thanks, Bart Ghesquière for your trust and hospitality and Marco Giampà for the very pleasant team work!
- Very happy to talk to the VIB Tech Watch core soon(er rather tan later)!
- Looking forward to discuss some of yesterday’s provocative statements by Peter Verhaert at his flashtalk (below) at poster #67 at the European School of Molecular Medicine (SEMM) workshop in Milano later today: - formaldehyde fixation is good sample prep for biologically relevant MS imaging - paraffin embedding is not bad either - historic, archived, pathologically well documented FFPE samples from tissue banks all over the globe can be analyzed by MSHC (mass spec histochemistry) - this could render some preclinical disease
- Great to see that the abstract by Peter Verhaert on the #LAMaS and ProteoFormiX was selected as an oral presentation!
- Peter Verhaert will be there!
- Happy to be supporting and looking forward to being present at the 2026 edition as well! ⛷️
- Happy to be in beautiful Bruges today, contributing to the fully-booked VIB Technology Training #SpatialOmics Summer School together with Marco Giampà and Ethan Rogers at the Bruges Meeting & Convention Centre, where next week the 2nd VIB Tools and Technologies Spatial Omics Conference (https://lnkd.in/esnGdiiU) will be held. Looking very much forward sharing our latest Spatial MS Histochemistry experience together with our collaborators at #LAMaS (Laboratory for Applied Mass Spectrometry) and Metabolomics Core Leuven at that
