Overview
Qonic builds a cloud-based BIM platform for collaboration in architecture, engineering and construction. The company, registered as Qonic NV, was founded in 2021 and is based at Koning Albertlaan 140 in Ghent. It employs between 11 and 50 people. The five co-founders are Erik De Keyser, Mark Van Den Bergh, Tiemen Strobbe, Tjerk Gauderis and Sander Scheiris, all formerly of Bricsys. De Keyser founded Bricsys, the company behind BricsCAD, and sold it to Hexagon in 2018. He is CEO of Qonic. In 2022 the team counted twenty people. Aaron Perry is Head of Strategy. After two years of stealth development, Qonic opened a public beta at app.qonic.com in December 2023, with contractors as the first target group. The platform imports IFC and RVT models, offers direct solid modelling, native Rhino and SketchUp import, Revit import and export, clash detection, issue management and an API, and runs on Windows, macOS, web browsers, Android and iOS. In April 2026 it added native drawing generation with annotated plans and sections and DWG export. Qonic describes itself as completely self-funded. Pricing runs from a Free plan covering up to 5,000 m2 and one active project through Contributor, Team and Professional plans to an Enterprise tier.

Architecture, structure, MEP, landscape… and every model needs to make its way into the project. Architects and contractors will be able to export the main model and all its linked models to Qonic in one go.
