Overview
SAFIR-Ready is a project focused on transforming emergency medical and critical infrastructure responses through Advanced Aerial Mobility and U-Space technologies. The initiative addresses regulatory and infrastructure barriers by pioneering comprehensive U-space services, systems, and procedures designed to ensure safety and efficiency of airspace access, with emphasis on automated airspace management in urban environments.

- In one word, how would you describe the SAFIR-Ready Conference in #Liège? The SAFIR-Ready Conference marked a major milestone for the project, bringing together aviation authorities, European organisations, defence, and industry to reflect on the progress achieved and what must come next. We asked five leading experts to describe the event in one word and share the key message they took away from the conference: 🔹 Munish Khurana, Senior Manager ATM/UTM Business Development at EUROCONTROL 🔹 Daan D., Head of Department IAM at
- New routes, shorter journeys, and faster connections! See how our project coordinator, Helicus, is reshaping logistics in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges in the article below! https://lnkd.in/d2hkwFW8 🇪🇺 The SAFIR-Ready project belongs to the SESAR Joint Undertaking and is co-funded by the European Commission through #HorizonEurope. Fulfilling the EU Strategic vision, SAFIR Ready innovates through an #Open_Modular_Architecture, designed for flexibility and scalability. The project is developing a Drone Cargo Port, enabling
- How much drone traffic can a city's airspace actually take? 🏙️🚁 You can't find out with real fleets! In SAFIR-Ready, project partner AgentFly Technologies explores it with fast-time simulation. We can recreate a city's airspace, fill it with realistic medical 🚑, delivery 📦, and patrol 🛡️ drone traffic, and increase it to see where the airspace starts to reach its limits. It's a way to study capacity limits, safety-zone effects, and start-delay trade-offs before a single real flight, helping de-risk the demonstrations and
- In SAFIR-Ready, AgentFly Technologies' agent-based simulation platform helps test #Uspace services before they reach a real demonstration. 🛫💻 We can recreate a city's airspace🌆 and populate it with realistic drone traffic to explore how the ecosystem behaves — including rogue or non-cooperative drones and multi-sensor tracks for sensor-fusion testing. Simulation🖥️ allows us to identify challenges early, improve system performance, and reduce operational risks before deployment. 💡Finding the problems in simulation is cheap.
- Advancing U-space requires more than technology: it requires real-world validation. 🚁🌍 As part of SAFIR-Ready, project partner ANRA Technologies supported a series of end-to-end validation activities across Europe, helping demonstrate how #Uspace services can enable safe and efficient drone operations in diverse environments. ✈️ In #Belgium, ANRA supported validation activities with Pipistrel Aircraft, NSX - Normalized Systems, and Helicus in Oostende, as well as live operational demonstrations in #Ypres and #Liège. In
- Three months after the SAFIR-Ready Executive Conference 2026, we continue to reflect on the valuable discussions, demonstrations, and collaborations that brought together the European drone ecosystem. 🚁🤝 Team ANRA Technologies was among the project partners contributing to the event, which featured insightful discussions, high-level panels, and a live demonstration at CHU de Liège, showcasing how drones can support healthcare 🏥, logistics 📦, and emergency response 🚑 in real-world environments. Most encouraging was seeing
- How can Air Traffic Controllers (#ATCOs) safely manage increasingly complex hybrid airspace? ✈️🚁 Within the SAFIR-Ready project, we have been exploring practical solutions to support Air Traffic Controllers as conventional aviation and new airspace users increasingly share the same operational environment. Using a prototype built on Airbus’ GENETICS ATC simulator, we demonstrated several mechanisms designed to enhance operational readiness and support decision-making in hybrid airspace scenarios. The approach places the ATCO at
