Topics to be addressed include Account-Based Ticketing, digital wallets, nationwide ticketing systems and international payment schemes: all of which are at the heart of our work. - What will the future of public transport ticketing in Europe look like? A recent article by Think WIoT provides an interesting overview of developments in Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Italy and France, showing that Europe is not moving towards a single ticketing medium. Smartcards, smartphones, wearables and contactless bank cards are increasingly coexisting alongside one another, with different countries and schemes adopting various approaches to their ticketing ecosystems.
