Overview
Sunrise was founded in 2015 and is headquartered in Brussels. The company has developed a wearable diagnostic platform for sleep apnea detection, enabling at-home diagnosis that avoids the cost and inconvenience of in-clinic sleep studies. The device attaches to the chin and monitors jaw movement and other signals to identify obstructive sleep apnea.
The company raised $18M in a Series A and has grown to over 150 employees, making it one of the larger Belgian healthtech companies by headcount. Sleep apnea affects an estimated 1 billion people globally, the majority of whom remain undiagnosed, providing a large addressable market for accessible diagnostic tools.
