Twikey builds a platform for recurring payments and invoicing. Dominique Adriansens and Koen Serry founded the company in 2013 and it is headquartered in Ghent, where the Belgian entity Twikey N.V. is registered at Kortrijksesteenweg 1110 in Sint-Denijs-Westrem. The product covers digital SEPA Core and B2B mandates, UK BACS and AUDDIS mandates, recurring collections, failure management and reconciliation, invoicing with a payment page, a fraud detection engine, payment orchestration, QR code payments and Peppol e-invoicing. It supports SEPA Direct Debit, BACS, credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Wero, and connects to more than 3,500 banks and more than ten payment service providers. Named customers include Plopsa, PointHR, VP Accountants, XLG, zZoomer, Cares Assistance, koveb, the Dutch Public Broadcasting service, 4411 and Q8. In 2025 the platform processed more than 29 billion euros in recurring payments. The company raised 1 million euros in seed funding in 2016 and set up a Dutch subsidiary the same year. It opened an office in Leiden in 2024 and one in Hamburg in 2025, and recorded its first UK transaction in 2025. In February 2026 Smile Sail, a 275 million euro evergreen private equity fund founded by Urbain Vandeurzen, agreed to take a majority stake, with the management team reinvesting. - Fraud prevention starts before the first payment. One of the more interesting themes in The Paypers’ Global Ecommerce Report 2026 is the growing convergence between payments and fraud prevention. In the chapter “Why Unifying Payments and Fraud Orchestration Is the Future of Ecommerce Security” (pages 72–74), the report describes how businesses are moving away from isolated fraud tools toward systems where security is integrated directly into the transaction flow. The reason is simple: fragmented systems create fragmented views,
- More payment choice shouldn’t mean more payment complexity. That is one of the clearest takeaways for us from The Paypers' Global Ecommerce Report 2026. In its chapter on Checkout Optimisation and Payment Orchestration (pages 65–90), The Paypers describes a shift away from payment setups built around a single provider towards more modular stacks, where merchants combine multiple PSPs, acquirers and payment methods behind one orchestration layer. The reason is straightforward: businesses want more flexibility, more local payment

- You know when an invoice is due. But do you know when the cash will actually come in? On September 21, Twikey and Payt are joining forces at Rethink!
