UTO Technologies develops scalable, camera-based systems that translate visual data into actionable information for organizations to make decisions about mobility, infrastructure, and spatial usage. The company offers services including enforcement for bicycle streets, bicycle street monitoring, and smart city solutions using computer vision AI without intrusive infrastructure.

Daarom geven we tijdens de Week van de Mobiliteit opnieuw één Belgische gemeente 𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗲 voor een fietszone of schoolomgeving. We brengen objectief in kaart
- 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗮 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝘇𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮 𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝘄𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺. We measure an average of 𝟯𝟱 𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗮𝘆, per camera. That is almost 𝟭𝟯,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 at a single location. Same numbers, same danger. Except here it is cyclists being overtaken unsafely. Why does that count for less today? While our feed was taking a break, we weren’t: working with cities and police zones, testing new use cases, improving our platform and pushing computer vision further into the real world. Cyclists, cars, scooters, pedestrians and daily traffic situations do not take a summer break. That is why we keep building smart mobility insights, improving traffic safety and supporting local governments with good data. Last week Agentschap Wegen en Verkeer approved the redesign of the Turnhoutsebaan (N12) in Stad Antwerpen, with road safety and a better public space at its core. You might expect us, a visual analysis company, to say technology makes streets safer. 𝘞𝘦𝘭𝘭, 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘭𝘺. A well designed street guides behaviour better than any sign, camera or fine. For UTO Technologies, it was amazing to meet so many people, exchange ideas and see how much momentum there is around smarter, safer and liveable cities. CityProof showed once again that smart cities are not built by technology alone. They are built by people who want to move forward, test what works and turn ideas into reality.
