XR4Europe is a pan-European non-profit association registered in Belgium as an AISBL, with its seat at Avenue des Arts 56 in Brussels. The association was registered on 6 August 2021 and traces its origins to XR4ALL, an H2020 project that ran from December 2018 to August 2021 with an EU contribution of €2,999,312.50, coordinated by Fraunhofer and including the Belgian partners IMAGE&3D EUROPE and LucidWeb. Full Membership is reserved for national and regional associations, clusters and hubs; companies, universities, startups and individuals join as associates or professionals, with annual fees ranging from €100 to €1,500. Its mission rests on three pillars: amplify member voices, advocate for industry concerns and facilitate collaboration. Michael Barngrover is Managing Director. Revenue comes from membership fees, EU-funded project work, consulting, partnerships and event production; the association receives no operational funding from the European Commission.

- Registration is now open for the second edition of Virtual Worlds Connect, a free online consortium-building event (5–6 October 2026) for upcoming Horizon Europe calls related to virtual worlds, XR and immersive technologies. The programme includes briefings on relevant Cluster 2 and Cluster 4 calls, short concept and expertise pitches, breakout rooms, and one-to-one matchmaking. The event will focus in particular on calls addressing: • advanced hardware for Virtual Worlds • international digital standardisation • culture, heritage
