Overview
NewSchool.vc is a Belgian Venture Capital fund focused on backing the next generation of tech founders. The fund is led by Christophe Morbee as General Partner, who simultaneously serves as CEO of besox.
The fund's tagline, "Backing the next generation of mobsters," is a direct nod to the Belgian tech mafias framework, positioning itself as the capital layer supporting alumni and founders emerging from Belgium's talent-generating companies.

Together with northstar, we’re hosting a Pitch Night in Ghent: a low-ego room to sharpen your pitch and get honest feedback from investors who’ve heard hundreds of them. northstar is Belgium’s open AI & robotics community, where builders meet and startups are born. They run the hackathons, meetups and open lab. NewSchool.vc brings together the investors' side: part of a new wave of VC investors, small and founder-run. Fund I closed at €10M this September. - From Ghent to the US. And just getting started. Big milestone for our portfolio company Spotable, raising €4 million to accelerate its expansion into the US. 🚀 Spotable is bringing AI and automation to one of the world’s largest industries: construction. What started in Ghent is rapidly becoming an international story. We backed Sebastien Vandendriessche, Julie Dumoulin, Pieter-Jan Philips and the Spotable team early on, and it’s great to see the speed at which they keep executing, learning and expanding. - A great milestone for NewSchool VC. What started just over a year ago as an idea to build a new early-stage fund has now grown into a fund of close to €10 million, with more than 30 investments in promising technology companies. Above all, I’m grateful for the trust of our investors, founders, and everyone who has helped build NewSchool over the past year. And in many ways, we’re only just getting started. 🚀 Thank you De Tijd for sharing our story.
