Berta Danielsdottir

Overview

Berta Danielsdottir is Managing Director of Marelec, a Duravant Company, a role she took up in April 2026, and is based in Nieuwpoort. She has chaired the board of Marea Iceland since September 2023. Her stated areas of expertise are sales and business development.

Before joining Marelec she was Global Commercial Director at Munters from March 2025 to March 2026, and at Hotraco Group she served as Chief Commercial Officer from August 2021 and as Chief Executive Officer from July 2022, holding both roles until August 2025. She was CEO of the Iceland Ocean Cluster from November 2016 to August 2021.

Her earlier career was spent at Marel, which she joined in November 1998 in logistics and finance and where she went on to work as a business manager, SSU manager, programme manager, business operation manager and change manager until November 2016.

She also chaired the board of Hlemmur Mathöll from January 2018 to September 2024, chaired a committee at St. Jósefsspítali Lífsgæðasetur from 2017 to 2018, and sat on the board of Konur í Sjávarútvegi, the women's association in the seafood industry, from 2013 to 2015.

Danielsdottir holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Reykjavik University and a master's degree in international business administration from Háskólinn á Akureyri.
