Overview
Cedric Marsboom is CTO and Head of R&D at Avia-GIS, a role he has held since March 2019. He is based in Antwerp.
He joined Avia-GIS in February 2017 as a modeller and spatial analyst, moving into his current role two years later. Before that he was a scientific researcher at UAntwerpen from March 2015 to January 2017, and in the closing months of 2014 he was a scientific collaborator at the faculty of industrial engineering at KU Leuven.
Marsboom studied at KU Leuven, completing a Master's degree in biosciences, nature and environment within industrial engineering between 2011 and 2014, and a Milieucoördinator level B qualification in 2014.

- Happy to be able to contribute to the One Health Summer School organised by ErasmusMC and Heidelberg University and supported by COST LILY. I shared some of our experience in WNV and dengue modelling and vector control for "Emerging Arbovirus Threats in Europe: Importation Pathways and Vector Control Strategies" with outputs of o.a. our E4Warning project and VectorNet expert network. More to come in week 2!
- Happy to spend a couple of days in Luxembourg with the Ministère de la Santé on a combined coordination and field-training meeting. With VectorNet we are providing training and advise on the surveillance for Aedes aegypti after the detection of eggs last year in the country.
