Vanhoeck and co-founder Vanessa Counaert founded Resortecs in 2017. Their Smart Stitch thread dissolves at high temperature in a low-oxygen oven, allowing garments to come apart in roughly twelve minutes without damaging the fabric. The company has raised in multiple rounds including EUR 2.2 million seed in 2023 led by ScaleFund and finance.Brussels, a EUR 2.5 million EU grant, and EUR 6 million in a 2025 growth round. Resortecs won the H&M Foundation Global Change Award in 2018 and the Henry van de Velde Award in 2023.

At Resortecs , the second half of 2026 is taking this literally. _ We’re currently in the middle of: • 🧳 A travel marathon visiting vendors and Amann offices across 6+ countries • 🧵 A sales & production marathon to hit our post-fundraising growth targets • 🏔 Last weekend.. an actual mountain marathon! _ 42.2 km, 1,953m of elevation gain, and 5h 10m later, I finished the Jungfrau Marathon! ☑️ The first 30km went great, but past km 33, the only great thing left was the alpine view.
