Overview
David Mellett is a co-founder of beefounders and is based in Brussels. He has been chief executive officer and cofounder of BeeFounders since December 2018, and since June 2026 has been a co-founder of belleire. He chairs the board of Mekanika, a role he has held since December 2019, and has chaired the board of No Waste Republic since February 2025.
Between November 2023 and July 2025 he was general manager of hoona. He cofounded Bolder Foods and sat on its board from June 2023 to June 2025, and was a board member and investor at Eclo - Exotic Mushrooms from 2016 to 2021. He cofounded Little Food and served on its board from February 2016 to December 2019. From January 2015 to May 2018 he worked as a coach and independent consultant at DeepCo. Earlier, he was a marketing strategist at SWIFT from 2005 to 2014, following seven years in business analysis and programme management at Bank of New York.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Galway and completed a certificate in transforming business at the MIT Sloan School of Management in 2015. His stated areas of expertise are fundraising, strategy, business development, board development and team leadership.
