Duncan Pollock

Overview

Duncan Pollock is Managing Director for Africa at DR Gaming Technology, a role he took up in June 2023, and is based in Cape Town. He has also worked in broadcasting throughout his gaming career: he has been a boxing ring announcer for SuperSport since February 1998 and an on-air music presenter at Smile 90.4FM since October 2021, having previously presented music on Magic Music Radio from 2016 to 2021, sport on Primedia Broadcasting in 2010 and 2011, and news and then music on Jacaranda FM (94.2) between 2002 and 2008.

He first joined DR Gaming Technology in October 2017 as head of global marketing, remaining until April 2022, and then spent a year as general manager of PalaceBet at Peermont Global. Between 2008 and 2017 he held a succession of posts at Grand Parade Investments Limited, in commercial management, group product and marketing, gaming operations, product and manufacturing, and business development. His earlier career was with Sun International, which he joined in April 1996 and where he worked in promotions, customer relationship management and marketing at The Carousel Casino, Carnival City Casino and Meropa Casino before becoming group gaming marketing manager.

He studied at the University of Pretoria from 1990 to 1993 without completing a BCom, and has since taken programmes at the University of the Witwatersrand, the Graduate School of Business - University of Cape Town, Vega School at Emeris and the Red & Yellow Creative School of Business, where he completed a digital marketing qualification summa cum laude in 2021.
