Hanne Callewaert

Overview

Hanne Callewaert is chief executive officer of Astrivax Therapeutics, a role she has held since July 2022. She is based in Bekkevoort. In July 2021 she founded HanXelle BV, where she is founding manager and director.

She joined Oxurion in June 2018 as global head of regulatory affairs, adding responsibility for business development, out-licensing and alliance management in September 2020, and served as chief operating officer from July 2021 until August 2022. Before that she spent nine years at GSK, beginning at GSK biologicals in March 2009 as a technical regulatory affairs scientist and moving on to roles at GSK Vaccines in clinical and global regulatory affairs and as a vaccine development lead, latterly as director and vaccine development leader until May 2018. She began her career as a patent attorney trainee at GEVERS in 2008.

Callewaert completed a master in biomedical sciences at KU Leuven, followed by a PhD in medical sciences there, and a master after master in intellectual property law at the Katholieke Universiteit Brussel. She attended College Menen.
