Overview
Hannes D'Hulster is COO of Cellavie, a role he took up in October 2025. He is based in Brugge. Since March 2025 he has been a host at Huis Ampère, and he has worked at Mrs & Mr since September 2007, first as a UX designer and, since January 2015, as product manager.
He founded Smooth Sailing and led its product work from February 2020 until October 2025, and between 2010 and October 2020 he was the founder of Nerdlab. From January 2005 to February 2020 he was a project manager and information architect at Ligo, Centrum voor Basiseducatie Brugge-Oostende-Westhoek. He was a designer at Mono – Interface Design from 2015 to 2017 and an information architect at Wijs from 2011 to 2015, and he coached at open Summer of code between 2019 and 2022.
Earlier he taught media art at Hogeschool Gent from 2010 to 2011 and at Das Kunst from 2007 to 2010, and worked as a student employee at Tropicana in 2006. He studied Communication and Media Studies at Katholieke Hogeschool Limburg, completing a master's degree in 2006.

- I’m a sucker for well designed things 👨🎓. I studied #design, I ran a design #agency, I worked with designers in every step of my job journey. 🌪️ The AI age shook things up a bit and we all need to adapt. - aboutlastweek. I went to my first battery recycling conference and what an adventure that was! 🎒 Anthony and me remodelled a module discharger into a wearable demo unit with discharging game! 🔧 We had to do some hacking in a coffeeshop and smuggle it through security but it was a big #guerilla #marketing success. 😅 We had to visit all the 326 exhibitors to meet people from Liebherr Group, swissRTec AG, Veolia, Jonathan Ahrens from No Canary, Alexandre Wattellier from SUEZ and many more.
