Dr. Houtai Choumane has led KiOmed Pharma as CEO and Managing Director since its founding in 2014. He brings nearly 20 years of experience in product development, executive management, and business development for innovative biotech companies. KiOmed Pharma is a spin-off from Kitozyme, a world-leading manufacturer of vegetable chitosan.
The company's core technology, KiOmedine, is an animal-free biodegradable biopolymer positioned as an alternative to hyaluronic acid for treating osteoarthritis. Its flagship product KioMedine-vs-one received approval from the Chinese FDA and the company has signed an exclusive partnership with Sinclair Pharma.
