Overview
Jeroen Janssen is the founder and chief executive of Happy Volcano, a company he started in December 2013 and continues to lead from Leuven. He has been chairman of the Flemish Games Association since June 2025, having served on its board from May 2018, and he has sat on the steering group of Flanders Game Hub since April 2023.
Before Happy Volcano, Janssen spent more than a decade at Boondoggle, where he began as a multimedia developer in April 2005 and later worked as a digital producer and as an account manager until December 2016. In July 2009 he co-founded Boondoggle LifeLabs, where he was also a digital producer until June 2015. Earlier, in the first half of 2004, he interned as a web developer at State.
Janssen studied applied computer sciences and e-security at Katholieke Hogeschool Leuven, followed by photography at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunst Leuven, a Kluwer Training course in negotiation skills and a people management programme at Vlerick Business School.
